Air Max 1 ‘Wheat’

Travis-Scott-nike-air-max-1-wheat-product-image

Finally the Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Wheat’ has arrived. The way more limited colourway to release alongside the ‘Saturn Gold’ and ‘Baroque Brown rendition. This is a shoe that the majority of the sneaker world thought would never release. Since the tragedy at Travis Scott’s astro world festival Nike decided to delay the release.

Most of us thought that would be it for Travis and his Nike collaborations. Low and behold we got the release date for all three of these fantastic Air Max 1’s. We say Air Max 1 loosely as we believe these should have been called something else. We only say this as pretty much the only thing that resembles the classic silhouette is the midsole. But hey, what do we know. That being said we still think that this is a fantastic shoe that would be a great addition to any sneaker fans collection.

The Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Wheat’ has a real outdoorsy feel to it. It’s build gives off serious hiking boot vibes with the added sportiness of an Air Max shoe. Travis Scott’s trademark backwards swoosh is of course located on the lateral sides of the shoe. Nike have gone heavy on the nubuck and mesh construction. The materials along with rope laces and hidden eye stays really give you the feeling that this shoe is built to last. A matching midsole with an opaque air unit sits on top of a custom cactus jack dark brown outsole. Of course this shoe is limited with every single pair completely selling out making it a tough cop. We are extremely excited to offer you a second chance at this fantastic shoe. For details on free entry, see our terms and conditions.

Air Max 1 ‘Waves Black’ (6-11)

Patta-Nike-Air-Max-1-Black-Product-Image

This time around we have the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Waves Black’. Another fantastic rendition of the iconic and timeless Air Max 1. Each and every design we have seen so far had smashed it out of the park. In our opinion the whole collection has been the one that has got us the most excited all year. Old school Air Max 1 fans went crazy for this release, as well as new fans arriving to join the Air Max 1 community. It was fantastic to see the Air Max 1 get so much love once again, as it should.

When it comes the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Waves Black’, we were pleased to see that they got adventurous with materials. Of course as well as being absolutely premium, the textures and visuals are fantastic. The mixture of matte and gloss combined with the smooth and textured materials has this pair in our top 5 to release this year. The soft mesh upper is nothing new on an air max 1. However, the cracked leather eye stays are something we don’t often see. The “ride the wave” mudguard also has a gloss like lacquer applied to it which gives it a unique texture and look. It was nice to see Patta experiment a bit more with this one, moving away from the initial ‘Monarch’ release. It definitely shows they have taken a completely fresh approach with each release, rather than just changing  a few colours.

This shoe and its siblings are a must have in any sneaker heads rotation, here’s your chance. For details on free entry, see our terms and conditions.

Air Max 1 ‘Baroque Brown’

Air Max 1 ‘Mellow’

Concepts-nike-air-max-1-mellow-product-image

Over the years we have seen some sensational sneakers com from the Nike x Concepts collaboration. Naturally the incredibly rare Dunk collection springs to mind. This time around they have taken a different approach in their three renditions of an icon. The Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 collection is guaranteed to turn heads no matter what pair is on foot. The first colourway released is the ‘Mellow’ followed by the ‘Heavy’. Rumours are that the ‘Far Out’ is set to release exclusively at Concepts on Air Max day.

When it comes to colours and materials, its safe to say they didn’t hold back on this one. A huge variety of materials can be found across the entire shoe. These are accompanied by bold and bright colours across the whole collection. As the names would suggest, the ‘Mellow’ seems to be less vibrant that the ‘Heavy’ and the ‘Far out’. The ‘Far Out’ of course being by far the brightest colourway. Canvas, leather, corduroy, velvet and denim can all be found on this patchwork style Air Max 1. We know bright colours and crazy designs aren’t for everyone when it comes to sneakers. That being said, we love that sort of stuff, so this collection gets a big thumbs up from us.

A lot of our customers requested that we raffle more Air Max 1’s. It’s with absolute pleasure that we present the Concepts x Nike Air Max 1 collection. Therefore we had to give the people what they wanted. For details on free entry, see our terms and conditions.

Air Max 1 ‘Waves White’

Air Max 1 ‘Monarch’

Patta-nike-air-max-1-monarch-product-image

In amongst the many drops and special releases from last year, there’s always that one shoe that stands out. Of course the opinions change from person to person but I’m sure we can all stop and appreciate this one. It may be an unpopular opinion but for us this shoe is a contender for shoe of the year. We are very excited and proud to include the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Monarch’ in our weekly raffle list. It’s no secret that we are huge Air Max 1 fans here at Lucked Out Laces. For that reason, we were absolutely buzzing to here there was a Patta collaboration on it’s way. The pedigree that the Patta brand has in creating sensational Air Max 1’s is undeniably legendary. From the ‘Cherrywood’, ‘Chlorophyll’, ‘Denims’ and even the ‘Homegrown’ Air Max 90’s.

The first thing that instantly attracted us to the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 ‘Monarch’ was the shape. It’s shape is reminiscent of the old school look. From the top of the tongue to the end of the toe box has this perfectly balanced gradual lower profile. That being said, the aesthetics of this design have also been fine tuned. The grey mesh upper with the subtle grey overlays allow for the bold wavy mudguard to really pop. Lot’s of people weren’t too sure about reinventing the classic Air Max 1 mudguard, but it seems to have won the majority of the community over upon release. Air Max 1 ‘Crepe Hemp’

Nike-air-max-1-crepe-hemp-product-image

Now the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Crepe Hemp’ is a shoe we have been waiting to get our hands on for a long time. As most of you probably already know, we are huge Air Max 1 fans at Lucked Out Laces. Therefore when we got wind that they were doing a retro of this 2004 grail of ours, they immediately had our attention. It’s now been 35 years since the Air Max 1 was born. Nike have celebrated in style this time around by dropping a modern rendition of one of the most desired Air Max 1’s out there

Like most are saying there have been some changes made to the latest rendition of the Nike Air Max 1 ‘Crepe Hemp’. The most obvious being the to box material. It has changed to a more wearable and durable material. Whereas on the previous design the toe box material would eventually crack and tear. Therefore sneaker fans were not overly happy about this. That being said we actually think that the lighter colour actually transforms and takes this shoe to another level. The outsole matches the one applied to the original shoe. Just another thing to set this shoe apart from many other Air Max 1 releases.

If you are an Air Max 1 fan then you will have already made up your mind not this one. At this ticket price and with odds like these it really is a no brainer. For details on free entry, see our terms and conditions.
